What is Brazilian barbecue?

For centuries, this variation of barbecue was the traditional food of the Gaúchos (cowboys) of Southern Brazil. Traditionally, Gaúchos utilized skewers hung around an open fire to cook meats & vegetables. Always a favorite at festivities and family gatherings, this type of cooking both brings people together and allows them to independently customize their meals for an easy, satisfying group meal that caters to individual tastes.

How does Grillex work?

Favorite chopped up meats, fruits, and vegetables are placed on skewers and in baskets, which are suspended vertically around a central heat source; anything from a stovetop burner, outdoor grill with a side burner to a camping stove. A circular diffuser located in the base of the Grillex evenly convects heat, creating the perfect environment for cooking any variation of foods without mixing flavors. A full meal can be served in less than 20 minutes.

What types of food can I make on my Grillex?

The possibilities are endless! Fruits, vegetables and meats are simply and speedily grilled to perfection, and prepared in many different styles. From sweet to savory, create your own signature marinade or follow a recipe to make everything from Chicken Tenders to Bananas Foster!

What is the average cooking time?

The average cooking time is 18 minutes but this adjusts to your liking. Add a couple more minutes to cook meat until well-done, or subtract to attain that perfect medium rare.

What type of material is it made of?

Every component of Grillex that comes in contact with food (skewers, heat diffuser, etc) is restaurant grade Stainless Steel. The Grillex body and lid are aluminum. The handles are made of Bakelite, a very sturdy material that will stand up to years of use the in the extreme heats of the stove and dishwasher.

Is it hard to clean?

The Grillex is easy to clean. The base of the Grillex is non-stick. The skewers and baskets can be placed in the dishwasher.
